Today, July 4, 2024, the Department of Environmental Health (DEH) announced that garbage collection has resumed in the Cayman Islands following Hurricane Beryl’s passage.

DEH said that “routes scheduled for collection on Thursday will be completed on Friday, July 5, 2024, and the routes schedule[d] for Friday will be done on Saturday, July 6, 2024.”

DEH added:

Regular operations at all landfills will resume on Friday, July 5, 2024.

Members of the public are also encouraged to use the 24-hour drop-off site at the entrance of the landfill which will remain open to facilitate the disposal of small amounts of waste from residential customers, if necessary.

Given the current weather situation, members of the public are asked to be patient whilst the DEH team continues to work hard and remain committed to resume its regular services.

Members of the public may contact the DEH at 949-6696 or at [email protected]. They may also visit the DEH’s website at www.gov.ky/deh or message their Facebook page at https://bit.ly/3LEK55q
