National Hurricane Center forecast Aug 9 2024

The National Hurricane Center stated today, August 9, 2024, that a developing tropical wave approaching the Lesser Antilles and Greater Antilles could become a tropical depression as early as next week.

According to the National Hurricane Center, the tropical wave is located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands and is moving westward across the central tropical Atlantic.

The tropical wave is forecasted to turn west-northwest and subsequently form as a tropical depression as it approaches the Lesser and Greater Antilles.

The chance of formation over seven days is 60 per cent.

Interests in the Caribbean should continue to monitor this system as forecasts may change at any time.
