According to the “Bonfire” portal utilised by the Cayman Islands Government to publish bids, the Ministry of District Administration and Lands (MDAL) invites interested parties to submit bids for the construction of public restrooms at the public beach at Governors House, located on West Bay Road, Block & Parcel 11D3, across from Governor’s Square and next to the Pinnacle development.

Purpose

Based on the request for proposals, “the objective is to meet community needs by providing public amenities that promote public health while maintaining the natural beauty of the area, enhancing the overall appeal and experience for both residents and visitors alike.”

Scope of works

The winning bidder must complete the following:

• Single-story Restroom Block, approximately 545 sq. ft.

• External Plant (Sewerage System, HVAC Exhaust Fan, etc.)

• External Works

o Parking bollards, parking blocks, markings and signage

o Construction of sidewalks, and pedestrian pathways

• Drainage and stormwater management

• Supply and installation of lighting inclusive of:

o Parking/roadway lights and bases

o Pedestrian path lights and bases

• Landscaping

o Supply and installation of all fill material, soil and mulch as required

o Supply and installation of all flora including but not limited to shrubs, flowers and trees 

• Contractors to reference detailed drawings and specifications for full scope

Scope of Works Exclusion (i.e. does not form part of the Scope of Works):

• Mobility mat for beach access

The works must be completed within 6 months of contract signing.

Deadline for bid submissions

The deadline for submitting bids is Monday, November 18, 2024, at 5:00 pm.

Bidders and their representatives are not permitted to contact any employees, officers, agents, elected or appointed officials or other representatives of CIG, other than the Procurement Contact or the Central Procurement Office, concerning matters regarding this procurement. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in the disqualification of the bidder and the rejection of the bidder’s bid.
