The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service is advising the public that to facilitate the National Heroes Day Celebrations, which are taking place on Monday, 27 January, the below road closures will be in place from Friday, 24 January, at 6:00 pm to Monday, 27 January, at 10:00 pm.

1. Fort Street will be closed between Seafarers Way and Edward Street.

2. Edward Street will be closed at the junctions of Main Street and Cardinal Avenue.

3. Edward Street will be temporarily closed at the junction of Dr. Roy’s Drive.

4. Albert Panton Street will be closed at the junction of Cardinal Avenue.

The roads will temporarily reopen from 12:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, 25 January.

However, there will be a Grand Rehearsal from 6:00 am to 8:30 am on Saturday, during which a rolling road closure will occur, starting at Elgin Avenue and continuing to Edward Street, Cardinal Avenue and Albert Panton Street and then returning via the same route on completion of the rehearsal. The National Heroes Day celebration will also follow the same route at 8:30 am on Monday, 27 January.

Local access will be permitted for those establishments open during these times.

The RCIPS advises motorists to exercise caution when travelling in these areas during these times.
