Today, April 12, 2025, Eric Greene, a gold medalist in the recent Pickleball open championship, officially cut the ribbon to open a new pickleball court in North Side.  This is another project completed by MP Jay Ebanks to meet the needs of residents there.

Speaking about how the new court came about, MP Ebanks said:

… thank you for all being here today. It’s a wonderful event. I’m so happy to be able to have this because one thing I keep saying to people in North Side, whatever North Side needs, whatever North Side wants, that’s my job to deliver for North Side people.

He added:

And whatever the kids want, we’re going to make sure that the kids continue to get it.

So there’s a few things that we still have left to do to the court, but that’s going to be in the making and just putting some lights on so people can have it at nighttime.

He continued:

And Mr Greene also just mentioned that we should put a wind barrier around the court, especially for days like this. So we’ll make sure that we get all of that taken care of in the coming weeks.

Two-time pickleball gold medal champion Eric Greene also chimed in, saying:

I think this is a really good initiative for the kids.

And not only the kids but the people of North Side.

Attendees then headed over to the pickleball court, where Eric Greene cut the ribbon and played practice games with a few people present.
