Cleve Winsell Borden appeared in the Summary Court today, June 30, 2026, to face three allegations of common assault, causing fear or provocation of violence, damage to property, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a controlled drug.

Outlining the allegations, Magistrate McFarlane said that, at various locations between December 2025 and April 2026, Borden used threatening words or behaviour towards a woman with intent to cause her to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against her.

It was also alleged that, on January 24, 2026, he damaged a car key valued less than $ 3,000, intending to damage such property or being reckless as to whether the property would be damaged.

Further, it was alleged that on January 31, 2026, Borden unlawfully assaulted a woman in West Bay by beating her.

Next, it was alleged that, on February 1, 2026, Borden unlawfully assaulted the same woman by beating her.

Magistrate McFarlane continued with the allegations, saying that, on February 1, 2026, Borden had in his possession an offensive weapon, namely a machete, outside his home.

For the final charge, it was alleged that on April 18, 2026, Borden had cocaine in his possession.

Borden is on bail and is expected to return to court on July 30, 2026.
