Incoming CIBA President, Amanda Bodden

The Cayman Islands Bankers Association (“CIBA”) has announced the appointment of Amanda Bodden as President and Laura Accurso as Vice President to head the CIBA Board of Directors (Executive Committee).

Commenting on the appointments, Mr. Richard Lewis, Chief Operating Officer of CIBA, said:

The appointment of Ms. Bodden and Ms. Accurso to head the Executive Committee, with their combined experience will prove invaluable to CIBA as we continue to promote the local banking sector.

Both Ms. Bodden and Ms. Accurso have had impressive careers in the local financial services sector. They are well positioned to drive CIBA’s strategic priorities throughout the next two years.

We are thrilled to celebrate the diversity on our board; this appointment follows last term’s first female President and Vice President leadership combination and we are pleased to see this continue.

Amanda Bodden is Head of Retail Banking at Butterfield Bank (Cayman) Limited where she has worked for the past 20 years in increasingly senior roles. She succeeds Sarah Hobbs, CIBA’s first female President.

Incoming CIBA Vice President, Laura Accurso, is currently CEO and General Counsel of Fundbank’s Cayman operation and brings vast experience in the local financial services industry to CIBA’s Executive Committee.

Incoming President, Amanda Bodden commented on her appointment:

I am delighted to accept this position, I thank the members and executive committee for their continued support and trust in my ability to serve in this role.

I look forward to working with all industry stakeholders to further CIBA’s strategic objectives over the course of my term.
