According to a publication today, June 28, 2024, the Cabinet of the Cayman Islands Government provided a summary of its meeting held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Mrs Gloria McField-Nixon acted as Deputy Governor and Ms Heather Bodden acted as Minister for Tourism and Ports. All other Ministers and Members of Cabinet were present.

At this meeting Cabinet:

• Reviewed and noted the Annual Report for the Ministry of Education for the year ended 31st December 2023 and authorised the Hon Minister to table at the next sitting of Parliament;

• Approved the issuance of drafting instructions to amend the Tax Information Authority (International Tax Compliance) (Common Reporting Standard) Regulations, (2021 Revision);

• Approved the issuance of drafting instructions to amend the Customs and Border Control (Prohibited Goods) Order, (2024 Revision);

• Approved the issuance of a Coastal Works Permit to Block 73A Parcel 80;

• Noted the update on the possible extension of the Paris Agreement Extension to the Cayman Islands; and

• Noted the update on the avian influenza in diary cattle in the United States of America.
