A meeting of the Cabinet was convened on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in the Cabinet Conference Room, Government Administration Building.

Mr Stran Bodden acted as Deputy Governor.

All other Ministers and Members of the Cabinet were present.

At this meeting, the Cabinet:

  • Confirmed approval given on 27th June 2024 by circulation for a prohibited immigrant to temporary re-enter the Cayman Islands.
  • Approved in accordance with section 20(6)(a) of the Stamp Duty Act (2019 Revision), a stamp duty abatement on the transfer of George Town East, Block 20E, Parcel 87H7.
  • Approved the issuance of a Coastal Works Permit for construction of a dock offshore Block 33B Parcel 81.
  • Approved the issuance of a Coastal Works Permit for the construction of a dock on Crown property adjacent to Block 33E Parcel 18.
  • Approved the issuance of a Coastal Works Permit for the construction of a dock offshore Block 80A, Parcel 57.
  • Approved in accordance with Section 11(5) of the Public Management and Finance Act (2020 Revision) to increase TP 76 – Assistance with Infrastructure Development in the amount of CI$250,000.
  • Reviewed and noted the Office of the Commissioner of Police Annual Report for the year ended 31st December 2023 in accordance with sections 44(5) and (6) of the Public Management and Finance Act (2020 Revision).
  • Approved the Special Economic Zones (Cayman Enterprise City) Order, 2024.
  • Reviewed and noted the Cayman Islands Airports Authority Annual Report and Audited Financial Statements for the year ended 31st December 2019 in accordance with section 44(5) of the Public Management and Finance Act (2020 Revision).
  • Approved in accordance with section 9(5) of the Public Management and Finance Act (2020 Revision) the transfer of appropriations of CI$300,000 allocated to TP 119 – Community Development Initiatives in the 2025 budget to TP 119 – Community Development Initiatives 2024 budget.
  • Approved the publication of declarations in accordance with sections 3 and 6 of the Roads Act (2005 Revision) as depicted by Boundary Plan 689 for the opening of a public road
  • Approved the preferred route for the East-West Arterial Environmental Impact Assessment.
