Cayman’s Jordan Crooks Breaks World Record In The 50M Freestyle Heat At The World Aquatics Swimming Championships In Budapest

According to World Aquatics, Cayman’s Jordan Crooks set a new world record 20.08 in the Men’s 50M Freestyle heat at the World Aquatics Swimming Championships in Budapest today, December 14, 2024. It was also .08 seconds better than the time previously set by Caeleb Dressel.

In terms of his personal progression in this event, Crooks previously set a time of 20.31 in 2022. He demolished this time today by 0.23 seconds in the preliminaries. 

The world record setter will now prepare for his semi-final swim later today, where he will swim in lane four next to Trinidad’s Dylan Carter, who has also been performing well.
