Flood Warning Issued For The Cayman Islands From September 22 to 26

According to the Hazard Management Cayman Islands and the National Weather Service, King Tides and forecasted rainfall are expected to cause flooding in the Cayman Islands, particularly in low-lying areas. Impacts may be seen today, Sunday, September 22, to Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Low-lying areas vulnerable

Based on the weather advisories, the 5-8 inches of rain predicted for Grand Cayman and 4-6 inches for the Sister Islands is expected to impact the following low-lying areas:

To assist with preparedness in these areas, sandbags will be available for collection as follows:

In addition to installing sandbags to protect properties, residents are asked to move vehicles to higher ground. However, they should not block public roads or hinder emergency responders’ access.
