According to the Government’s “Bonfire” website, the Government is seeking tenders for the provision of armoured vehicular security services.  The winning bidder will be responsible for safely transporting cash from Government departments and depositing it with relevant financial institutions. The bid submission deadline is 5:00 pm Cayman time on October 8, 2024.

Scope of services

Based on the request for proposals, the winning bidder must perform armoured car services Monday to Friday and must ensure that the following are in place:

  • Fidelity insurance
  • Employees’ liability insurance
  • Armoured vehicles
  • Tamper evident deposit bags
  • Cameras and tracking devices
  • Designated secure area only accessible by the appropriate employees and security personnel (offsite, if deems necessary due to unforeseen circumstances)
  • Detailed inventory of all cash-in-transit transactions
  • Comply with the pickup schedule
  • Provide a fixed price for the duration of the contract

Additionally, the selected bidder must be able to ensure compliance with safety, data protection, and security regulations, aligning with the standards required by the Cayman Islands  Data Protection Act 2023 (CIDPA), CIDPA Regulations of 2022, and the Public Management & Finance Act of 2020.

Bids must be submitted at the location set out above on or before the October 8 submission deadline. Bids submitted to a different location or after the submission deadline will be rejected.
