Travis Anthony Boyd, a man accused of indecent assault, inviting a child to participate in a sexual activity, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, sexual communication with a child, child pornography, assault by penetration and indecent photographs of children, appeared in Summary Court today, November 14, 2024, to hear about his new bail conditions.
Bail conditions
The Court heard that there was an existing matter for which bail conditions were in place. Today, bail conditions were extended for a new matter as follows:
- His passport continues to be withheld (He is a Jamaican national)
- No contact with the existing complainant directly or indirectly
- No contact with the new complainant directly or indirectly
- No contact or unsupervised visit with any child under the age of 16 years
- Local surety of $1,500
- No use of social media, including WhatsApp, Snapchat, Facebook, IG and any other social media
Reporting restrictions
Since the offences involve a child under 16, Magistrate Hernandez ordered that reporting restrictions be put in place to protect the anonymity of the complainant, who is a child. Accordingly, no publication can be made which may identify the child.
