On June 13, 2025, Romell Augustine Millwood appeared in the Grand Court to hear allegations against him of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawful wounding. Millwood pleaded not guilty to both charges. His trial is expected to commence on June 19 or later.
Background
Regarding the first allegation, it was stated that, on April 19, 2023, Millwood unlawfully and maliciously wounded Marco Green along the Seven Mile Beach with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm. This charge was laid under section 203 of the Penal Code (2022 Revision).
Based on the same facts, Milwood was also charged with unlawful wounding under section 204 of the Penal Code (2022 Revision).

Wounding or causing grievous bodily harm
203. A person who, unlawfully and maliciously, by any means, wounds or causes grievous bodily harm to a person with intent to do grievous bodily harm to any person or with intent to resist or prevent the lawful apprehension or detainer of any person, commits an offence and is liable on conviction to imprisonment for life.
Wounding or causing grievous bodily harm
204. A person who unlawfully and maliciously wounds or inflicts any grievous bodily harm upon any other person, either with or without any weapon or instrument, commits an offence and is liable on conviction to imprisonment for seven years.
