Chad St Aubyn Whyte appeared in the Grand Court today, January 10, 2025, where he faced an allegation of robbery at Rubis gas station on Walkers Road. It was alleged that he was the getaway driver, where a bag containing KYD 4,135 and USD 382 was stolen. In addition, it was alleged that a cheque valued at KYD 775 was stolen from Theodore Cuffy. Whyte pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Background
Based on the information provided in the Grand Court, Whyte was alleged to be the getaway driver for the robbery.
Reportedly, Whyte’s account is that he just dropped his wife at work and had his 17-month-old baby sitting in the car.
Whyte then drove as usual and gave a lift to a man he saw on the road.
Unusually, the man asked Whyte to drive around the block.
Reportedly, the man suddenly stopped. Around this time, the alleged robbery occurred.
Whyte is now expected to return to court for trial in July 2025.
