Men Plead Guilty To Ganja Possession & Consumption & Possession Of Ecstacy

Two young men appeared in Summary Court today, October 17, 2024, each facing charges of possession and consumption of ganja. One of the men had an additional charge of possession of ecstasy (MDMA). They pleaded guilty to these charges before Magistrate Hernandez.
Background
In the case of the first man, 7.47 grams of ganja were found in his truck in East End in January 2024. Such possession is an offence under section 3(1)(K) of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
He was also charged with consumption of ganja, which is an offence under 3(1)(L) of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Regarding the second man, he was charged with consumption of ganja and ganja possession after 5.72 grams were found in his bedroom in East End. In addition, he had 0.27 grams of ecstasy.
Next court date
Both men are expected to appear in Court again on November 14. It is understood that a further charge of possession of ganja with intent to supply may be explored on that date.
