Police Investigate Robbery Of Business Near Selkirk Drive

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said that shortly after midnight this morning, September 18, police responded to a report of a robbery at a business premises located on Shamrock Road, in the vicinity of Selkirk Drive, where it was reported that a man armed with a machete attended the location and demanded cash from an employee.

The man was described as tall and slim. He was wearing a mask covering his face and dark clothing. After securing a quantity of cash, the man ran from the location. No one reported any injuries to the police as a result of this incident.

This robbery incident is being investigated and detectives are encouraging anyone with information to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222. Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, or via the RCIPS website.
