Police Say Part Of South Sound Road Is Impassabe After Passage Of Hurricane Beryl

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said this afternoon that while carrying out patrols today, it was noted that South Sound Road, from the intersection at Old Crewe Road, appears to be unsafe and impassable by motorists. That section of the roadway will be blocked until further notice due to the significant damage to the roadway and excessive debris.

Police added that other roads had been seen to have fallen trees and utility lines, which were cleared by other emergency services prior to the all-clear being given, ensuring that the roads were safe for the public to traverse.

The RCIPS would like to thank the public for their cooperation throughout the hurricane and encourage everyone to continue to be safe and to exercise caution while traversing the roads during these continued inclement weather conditions.
