The National Hurricane Center issued an update this afternoon, June 27, 2024, stating that two existing tropical waves have a higher chance of forming over the next seven days.
The system located over the western Caribbean Sea has been upgraded from yesterday’s 20% chance of formation to today’s 30% chance of formation in the next seven days.
The possibility of the tropical wave located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands becoming a tropical depression or tropical storm doubled from yesterday’s projection to 80% as it moves in the direction of the Winward Islands.
Stakeholders in the Caribbean are encouraged to pay attention to broadcasts from local radio stations and notices from other media and Government officials, as forecasts could change at any time.
