Karan Isabella Bodden appeared in the Summary Court yesterday, June 17, 2025, to face a charge of smuggling contraband into Northward prison. She pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The background of the incident is that, allegedly, on October 25, 2024, she smuggled 14.88 grams (0.52 ounces) of ganja into HMP Northward. This is an offence under the Prisons Act, where a person could be liable to a fine of fifteen thousand dollars and to imprisonment not exceeding three years, or to both.
Bodden is expected to return to court for trial on November 3, 2025.
