Today, June 13, 2025, Justice Richards sentenced Ygnacia Rafaelina Francisco Payero to 26 months imprisonment for causing death by careless driving. The accident occurred on a night out in August 2022 with friends, when Payero lost control of the car she was driving on Easterm Avenue and collided with a wall.
After considering submissions from prosecution and defence counsels, Justice Richards broke down the sentence as follows:
