Woman Gets 26 Months Imprisonment For Causing Death By Careless Driving

Today, June 13, 2025, Justice Richards sentenced Ygnacia Rafaelina Francisco Payero to 26 months imprisonment for causing death by careless driving. The accident occurred on a night out in August 2022 with friends, when Payero lost control of the car she was driving on Easterm Avenue and collided with a wall.
After considering submissions from prosecution and defence counsels, Justice Richards broke down the sentence as follows:

In addition to the above, Payero will be disqualified from driving for three years.
