CITA Press Release

The Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA) proudly announces its partnership with Mastercard, the global technology company in the payments industry, as the title sponsor of the Cayman Islands Restaurant Month in October 2024. This collaboration reinforces Mastercard’s commitment to celebrating the rich culinary heritage of the Caribbean. This year, cardholders will enjoy an elevated experience with a range of priceless rewards and opportunities to win incredible prizes.

“We are delighted to partner with Mastercard for Restaurant Month this year,” said Troy Leacock, CITA President. “Their sponsorship will enhance the opportunity to increase footfall and revenue for restaurants throughout October through additional local and international promotions and their rewards and incentive programmes. This will further underscore Cayman as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean.”

“Restaurant Month is an important part of the Tourism Association’s mission. It highlights the talent, scale, excellence, and vibrant diversity of Cayman’s restaurant sector, and gives the public the opportunity to experience great dining opportunities at great value. Diners will no doubt be delighted to experience the diverse, vibrant flavours of global cuisines from Cayman’s wide selection of eateries.

Mr. Leacock added, “Mastercard is the perfect partner for Restaurant Month because it is a long-established leader in payment card solutions, an innovative technology company focused on giving its cardholders access to unique experiences around the world.”

Participating restaurants will offer special 3-course menus starting at just CI$15 for lunch and CI$30 for dinner. In 2023, 55 restaurants participated in Restaurant Month, and this year, with Mastercard’s support, cardholders can expect even more value with the rewards and incentives for cardholders combined with the special menu prices only available during October.

The Mastercard sponsorship also gives participating restaurant owners and staff the chance to receive rewards and incentives when cardholders use their Mastercard during Restaurant Month.

“We are very proud to sponsor Restaurant Month in the Cayman Islands. This sponsorship continues our mission of connecting people to their passions and bringing priceless memories to both locals and visitors. By providing opportunities to celebrate Cayman’s vibrant culinary scene, we aim to create memorable experiences year-round while supporting local businesses throughout the island,” said Dalton Fowles, Country Manager for Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and Eastern Caribbean at Mastercard.

The CITA Cayman Islands Restaurant Month presented by Mastercard kicks off on 1 October 2024, and runs through 31 October 2024.
