Man Pleads Not Guilty To Intent-To-Supply 10 Ounces Of Ganja & Disputes Scale Possession

Giovanie Ramone Edwards appeared in the Summary Court today, May 26, 2026, to face allegations of possession of Ganja with intent to supply, possession of a utensil used in the preparation and consumption of Ganja and consumption of Ganja.
Outlining the charges, it was alleged that in December 2025, Edwards had in his possession 289 grams (10.2 ounces) of ganja with intent to supply. Edwards pleaded not guilty.
Second, it was alleged that Edwards possessed a utensil, being a scale used in the preparation and consumption of Ganja. Edwards pleaded not guilty.
Commenting on the scale charge, his lawyer said:
My instructions are that there was another party resident at the property [and] she accepted responsibility for that scale but her statement doesn’t feature in my papers…and in fact, all of the case papers that I have in this matter relate to the charges that went up to the Grand Court that subsequently were dismissed.
Concerning the alleged drug consumption, Crown Counsel from the DPP withdrew the charge.
The Chief Magistrate scheduled a case management hearing date for June, 2026 emphasizing the need to ensure all paperwork and statements are available to the defence. This will allow the defence to properly prepare and for the court to address the disputed charge of scale possession.
