A man has denied two counts of common assault and a charge of threatening to kill.
William Joseph Phillips-Moore appeared before the Chief Magistrate in the Summary Court today, August 4, 2026. He is charged first with common assault, contrary to section 215 of the Penal Code, the particulars being that in December 2025, at Shedden Road, George Town, he assaulted a woman. He faces a second count of common assault, said to have been committed the following day, December 27, at the same location.
The third charge is threatening to kill, contrary to section 88C of the Penal Code, whereas it was alleged that, on the same date and place, without lawful excuse, he made a threat to a woman to kill her or cause her serious injury, intending that she would fear it would be carried out.
Phillips-Moore pleaded not guilty to all three charges. He was represented by defence attorney Amelia Fosuhene.
The Chief Magistrate Hernandez set the matter down for case management on November 12 and fixed a trial for a later date.
