Man Found Guilty Of Wounding With Intent After Stabbing Beach Vendor In The Back, Shoulder & Face On Seven Mile Beach In Front Of Tourists

By Alric Lindsay

Today, August 28, 2025, Rommel Millwood appeared via video link before the Honourable Justice Peters to face sentencing for wounding with intent.  The incident involved a stabbing of Marco Green, an illegal beach vendor, who was initially stabbed in the back while attending to a tourist and stabbed several times after.  After analysing the arguments from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and defence counsel, the Hon. Justice Peters found Millwood guilty.  Millwood is expected to be sentenced on November 28, 2025.

Background

It is understood that in April 2023, Green set up on the beach to sell (illegally) sodas, juice, water, and jerk chicken.

While Green was attending to tourists, he had an initial altercation with Millwood, who took his bag and stated, “we don’t want no Jamaicans up this side selling.”  Reportedly, Green said he didn’t know that, and it was the first time he heard it.

Green added that he didn’t want any trouble.

According to reports, Millwood returned the bag to Green, and Green then went to collect money from tourists.

While Green was collecting money, Millwood reportedly took Green’s bag again and threw it into the sea.

Reportedly, Milwood said that Green should get a gunshot in his face.

Green did not respond because he was attempting to sell goods peacefully.

However, while Green was collecting money from tourists, he felt a “sting” in the middle of his lower back.  That was the first stabbing by Millwood.

When Green turned around, Millwood stabbed Green again, but this time in his shoulder and then slashed him in the face.

After being stabbed several times, Green reportedly said he was weak from blood loss but had no idea how much blood he was losing at that time.

Reportedly, Green ran away from Millwood and jumped into the sea.

Subsequently, Green returned to the cabana where he was set up and asked his friend to take him to the hospital.

Green later said he was “a million per cent” sure that Millwood was the person who attacked him.

Millwood was later arrested in May 2023 and cautioned by police.

During Millwood’s interview under caution, which took place approximately six weeks after Green was stabbed, Millwood exercised his right to silence.

Millwood was asked several questions about the events of April 19.  He made no comment.

The court drew an adverse inference from Millwood’s silence during the police interview, concluding he had “no satisfactory answer to give at that time” or had “invented his account” later.

Millwood’s account was that he was doing some landscaping work at his neighbour’s house on the day of the incident. He added that he had not visited Seven Mile Beach and had only learned about the incident through social media and a news outlet.

However, the Hon. Justice Peters did not accept Millwood’s account.

Considering whether Millwood intentionally wounded Green, the Hon. Justice Peters concluded that, for a person to inflict four separate stab wounds in such an extensive nature as is demonstrated by the medical and photographic evidence, it is clear and obvious that such a person could only have intended to cause really serious harm.

After considering the evidence, the Hon. Justice Peters found Milwood guilty of wounding with intent contrary to section 203 of the Penal Code. Millwood is scheduled to be sentenced on November 28, 2025.
