George Vincent Miller appeared in the Summary Court today, August 4, 2025, to face charges of damage to property, disorderly conduct and failing to surrender to custody. After he pleaded guilty to all charges, the Chief Magistrate set a sentencing date for September 8, 2025.
Background
Regarding the damage to property, it was alleged that, on July 17, 2024, Miller damaged the glass front door of a KFC restaurant on Shedden Road in George Town, resulting in a financial loss estimated at $260.
Concerning disorderly conduct, Miller was accused of using threatening or abusive language in a public setting, which was considered provocative enough to breach the peace.
In the case of the charge of failure to surrender, it was noted that Miller was expected to attend court on April 1, 2025, and failed to surrender to custody. Miller explained that he was at court on April 1, however, he left because he “had places to go.”
As an aside, it was noted in court that Miller previously tested for cocaine.
In the circumstances, the Chief Magistrate set a sentencing date for September 8, 2025. In the meantime, Miller must complete regular drug testing.
