Man Pleads Not Guilty To Alleged Breach of Protection Order & Alleged Masturbation At Camana Bay; Prosecution Later Drops Charge.

Robert Ryan Bush Jr appeared in the Summary Court today, September 23, 2026, to face two allegations of breach of a sexual harm prevention order, being an idle and disorderly person and outraging public decency.

The court heard that on September 7, 2026, at the Silhouette store in Camana Bay, where Bush Jr was accused of masturbating in the presence of a female witness. Bush Jr maintained a steadfast plea of not guilty to the allegation.

During the hearing, Crown Counsel from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) announced a significant shift in their case, revealing that they were formally offering no evidence in relation to the public indecency charge. As a result, the count was dismissed by Magistrate McFarlane. The DPP further confirmed it was withdrawing two additional charges, leaving only a single count in the alternative.

Regarding the remaining count, Bush Jr entered a guilty plea.  This was an administrative charge tied to the exact same date, admitting that he had changed his residential address without notifying the police.

Magistrate McFarlane recorded the guilty plea for the address omission and ordered that Bush Jr be brought back before the court for formal sentencing on that matter at a later date.
