Two men appeared in Grand Court today, February 20, 2026, facing serious charges involving unlicensed firearms. One faces an additional charge involving the high-value robbery of jewelry from Cash Wiz. Both face trial in May 2025.

In the first case, Leonel Ashton Bushwas formally arraigned on a five-count indictment (No. 141 of 2025) for multiple offences under the Firearms Act. He faces charges of:

** Possession of an unlicensed .45 calibre Luger pistol

**Possession of an unlicensed .22 calibre Luger Single Six revolver

**Possession of unlicensed ammunition, including rounds of .45, .22 and 9mm

The alleged offences occurred in November 2025. Bush entered not guilty pleas to all counts. He now faces trial in May 2025.

In a separate matter, Bradshaw Tamango Watson faced a five-count indictment (No. 4 of 2026) combining robbery with firearms offences.Watson is charged with:

**Robbery contrary to the Penal Code, in which jewellery valued at CI$194,104.56 was allegedly stolen from CashWiz (No. 144 North Church Street, Georgetown) on May 28, 2025, with force allegedly used against a victim identified as Tricia Bodden.

**Possession of an unlicensed Smith & Wesson pistol

**Possession of an unlicensed .38 Special calibre revolver

**Possession of unlicensed ammunition

Watson entered not guilty pleas to all counts. His trial date was set for May 25, 2026. He was remanded in custody until then.

Both cases were part of a busy session of arraignments and mentions before the Grand Court, during which multiple other defendants also had matters adjourned. Legal aid processing delays and disclosure issues featured in several cases.The proceedings highlight ongoing enforcement efforts against unlicensed firearms in the jurisdiction. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
