The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service said that at about 3:45 pm on November 8, officers responded to a report of a robbery which occurred on Jasmine Lane in George Town.
It was reported that a man was walking along the roadway towards his vehicle when another vehicle with three occupants pulled up next to him. Two of the men exited the vehicle and demanded money from him. A struggle ensued and one of the men brandished a machete. The men robbed him of a bag containing a large quantity of cash, returned to the vehicle, and departed from the location. One of the men brandished what appeared to be a black handgun as the vehicle left the scene.
The matter is currently under investigation by George Town CID, and anyone with any information is asked to contact 949-4222.
