Canadian Businessman Sentenced To 14 Months Imprisonment For Accident Which Claimed Life Of A Cyclist

According to the court’s public information officer, Canadian businessman Samir Jaffer Bandali was sentenced to 14 months’ imprisonment on July 2, 2025, for causing the death of a cyclist by careless driving. He will also be disqualified from driving for 3 years following release from custody.

Based on the background of the case, Bandali had been on a night out with colleagues, having drinks, when he collided with a cyclist near Fidel Murphy’s.  Reportedly, Bandali left the scene of the crime and had no insurance; his vehicle registration had expired, and he had no certificate of roadworthiness.
