Filipina National Faces Allegations Of Working As A Recruiter, Outside The Terms Of Her Work Permit. She Is Also Charged With Forged Temporary Work Permits.

Mary Jane Macutay, a Filipina national, appeared in the Summary Court today, December 10, 2024, to face allegations that she worked outside the terms of her work permit and possessed forged work permit documents for several people. She pleaded “not guilty” to all charges.

Details of allegations

Regarding the first count, it was alleged that, between April 2022 and April 2024, Macutay failed to comply with the terms and conditions of her work permit by working as a recruiter without permission granted by immigration authorities.

Concerning the second to sixth counts, it was alleged that she possessed forged temporary work permit documents for several persons.

Adding to her troubles, it was reported in the Summary Court that her work permit is scheduled to be revoked as her term limit has expired or is expiring.

Following Macutay’s “not guilty” pleas, her bail was extended to January 16, 2025, when she is expected in court.
