Knife To The Neck: Man Denies Weapon and Assault Allegations

A man appearing by video link pled not guilty in the Summary Court on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, to three charges arising from an incident in West Bay, and was remanded in custody pending trial.

Alvin Winston Brown faces the following allegations:

** Possession of an offensive weapon: It was alleged that, March 10, 2026, at 53 Town Hall Road, West Bay, he had a “ratchet knife” in his possession outside his house and premises.

** Causing fear or provocation of violence: It was alleged that on the same day he used threatening behaviour towards a man, holding a ratchet knife 12 inches from his neck with  intent to cause him to believe immediate unlawful violence would be used against him.

** Common assault: It was alleged that he unlawfully assaulted a man by pushing and punching him in the chest.

According to his attorney Keith Myers, the basis for the not guilty pleas was “complete deniability.”

A case-management hearing was set for August 6 (by video link); trial on August 24 to be attended in person.
