A man appeared in the Summary Court today, September 2, 2026, to face allegations of damage to property and insulting the modesty of a woman. He pled guilty to the charges.
Regarding the first charge, the Chief Magistrate said it was alleged that, on April 3, 2026, the man damaged a person’s Samsung Ultra telephone at a location in Bodden Town.
On the same date and place, it was alleged that he insulted the modesty of a woman, whereby he uttered the words “stupid b*tch” towards a woman.
When asked about previous incidents, the man told the Chief Magistrate that he was charged in the past and placed on probation, during which time he completed an anger management course.
After considering the foregoing, the Chief Magistrate noted that the man’s “repeated behaviour” required “intervention.” Accordingly, the Chief Magistrate refered the man to the domestic violence court. Provided that the man completes the relevant program, no conviction will be recordee upon completion.
