At around 2:30 am on Wednesday, November 6, police responded to a report of a robbery at a commercial plaza on West Bay Road, just north of Snooze Lane.
It was reported that a security guard who was on duty outside the location was approached by a group of persons wearing hoodies and masks, who attacked him and robbed him of his phone and other personal items
EMS attended the scene and the man was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
While responding to the matter, officers discovered that a jewellery store at the same location had been broken into and items taken.
Police are aware of video footage circulating on social media that reveals four masked men carrying out the burglary. Both matters are currently under investigation and anyone with any information is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.
