Local business Shepperd Construction Ltd. is facing a substantial financial dispute in the Summary Court, with prosecutors alleging the company owes more than $41,000 in unpaid worker pension allocations.

The court heard this week that the corporate entity, which is reportedly owned by Wespie Mullings Miralda, faces a total of nine counts of failing to establish a pension plan, alongside separate allegations of failing to pay contributions within the specified timeframe mandated by the Director of Labour and Pensions.

According to Kenneth Ferguson, Crown Counsel for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the total aggregate sum allegedly starved from the company’s employee pension framework stands at KYD $41,598.74, calculated up to the cutoff date of October 12, 2026.

Appearing for the defence, prominent attorney Amelia Fosuhene requested a brief pause in the proceedings before the company enters formal pleas. Fosuhene informed the court that while the Crown has put forward a substantial grand total, the defence has not yet been provided with an itemized breakdown of the total amount allegedly owed.

Magistrate McFarlane agreed to the short defence adjournment to allow prosecutors time to compile the breakdown requested. The case against Shepperd Construction Ltd. has been officially pinned for a return to the Summary Court on November 5, 2026.
