A woman facing a charge of wounding with intent in connection with an alleged incident on Martin Drive (aka “Central”), George Town, made her first formal appearance in the Grand Court on Friday, October 16, 2026, where strict protective measures were put in place to shield the alleged victim.

Lucia Ramos-Santana appeared before the Hon. Justice Richards for an initial arraignment on indictment number 112/26.  The charge stems from an altercation that allegedly took place on March 19, 2026.  At the time of the hearing, the details were not discussed in the Grand Court.

Represented by defence attorney Katie Williams, Ramos-Santana did not enter formal pleas during the brief procedural hearing.  Instead, a short adjournment was requested.  This adjournment may allow the defence adequate time to fully review the prosecution’s evidence package and finalize instructions ahead of the next hearing.

The prosecution did not oppose the continuation of the defendant’s bail, but requested stringent oversight mechanisms to ensure the safety of the complainant.

Justice Richards extended Ramos-Santana’s bail under the conditions that make no contact with the complainant, either directly or indirectly through third parties.

Ramos-Santana to return for a formal mention and arraignment hearing on October 30, 2026, when pleas are expected to be entered.
