Woman Faces Charges For Common Assault & Causing Fear or Provocation of Violence

Trecy Fabiola Garcia Holl Douglas appeared before the Summary Court today, July 16, 2026, charged with common assault, damaging property and causing fear or provocation of violence, all arising from an alleged incident on June 7, 2025.

According to the charges outlined in court, Douglas allegedly unlawfully assaulted a woman.

The second charge alleged that without lawful excuse she damaged property belonging to another woman, namely a T-shirt, either intending to destroy or damage it or being reckless as to whether it was damaged.

The third charge alleged that she used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards another woman, intended or likely to cause her to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against her.

Douglas pled not guilty to all charges.

Douglas is expected to return to court on September 16, 2026.

The Chief Magistrate noted that a section 62 notice was attached to the case, meaning that the trial would proceed whether or not Douglas was present, and whether or not her counsel was available on the day. The court said this reflected the fact that there had already been delays in the matter.
