A woman faces a comprehensive probationary assessment after entering a formal guilty plea to assaulting a law enforcement officer during an incident at Morritts resort.

Cindy Ruby Jones-Rubi appeared before Magistrate McFarlane in the Summary Court today, October 27, 2026, on alongside her defence attorney, Lauren Miranda. Jones-Rubi stood charged with a single count of assaulting a police officer on February 2, 2026 at Morritts.

When the charge was read aloud by the clerk, the defendant entered a prompt, unreserved plea of guilty.

Following the conviction, attorney Miranda moved quickly to protect her client’s record, requesting that the court order a comprehensive pre-sentence report to explore mitigating background factors before a final sentence is handed down. The court heard that the probation officer requested a standard preparation window, noting they would require three to four weeks to complete the PSR.

Magistrate McFarlane granted the defecse request and adjourned the matter to December 7, 2026. Jones-Rubi was released on continued bail pending her sentencing date.
