Gregory Derran Myles was remanded in custody in the Summary Court today, August 20, 2026, after it was indicated that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions would accept a plea to criminal trespass in place of a burglary allegation.
Defence counsel, John Furniss, explained to the court that Myles was interviewed this morning in connection with an allegation of criminal damage, and that he was also in detention in relation to the removal of an ankle monitor. Counsel said he was not able to confirm whether Myles had yet been interviewed about the monitor.
The charge that was put alleged criminal trespass contrary to section 277 of the Penal Code. The particulars were that on a date unknown after December 23, 2025, in the Cayman Islands, at premises at 113 Denham Thompson Way off Walkers Road in George Town, Myles entered the premises without having any lawful business there. The property is owned by First Alliance Group.
The Chief Magistrate kept the date of September 17 for the new charge and any other charges, and Myles was remanded in custody until then.
