Man Pleads Not Guilty To Rape; Trial Set For January 2027

A five-to-seven-day jury trial has been scheduled for a man facing heavy sex offence charges following an incident dating back to 2025.

The man stood before Justice Richards to plead not guilty to the following charges:

** Counts 1 & 2: Rape, contrary to section 127 of the Penal Code, allegedly committed rape against a female on April 10, 2025.

** Count 3: Assault by Penetration, contrary to section 132A of the Penal Code, alleging non-consensual sexual penetration of the victim’s mouth with his penis on the same date.

** Count 4: Common Assault, contrary to section 215 of the Penal Code, alleging he punched the complainant.

Represented by defence attorney Amelia Fosuhene, the man maintained his absolute innocence.  His trial date is set for January 26, 2027.
