Two Men Plead Not Guilty To Alleged Tour Bus Money Theft Of Nearly $200,000; Trial Scheduled For March 2027

The two men accused of stealing nearly US$200,000 in passenger takings by unauthorized use of commercial tour buses entered not guilty pleas in the Grand Court today.

Courideous Anthony Percell and Jermaine Glenbert Thompson formally denied all charges on their indictment during their scheduled appearance today, September 18, 2026, before Hon. Justice Richards. Following the entry of their clean not-guilty pleas, the court scheduled a jury trial set to commence on March 1, 2027. The trial is expected to last between two and three weeks.

The joint charges stem from allegations spanning from March 2022 to December 2023. The prosecution alleges that Percell and Thompson systematically operated tour buses belonging to Majestic Tours owner Nigel Mitten without obtaining his permission. The men allegedly collected passenger fees on behalf of Cayman Land and Sea Cooperative Ltd. and Anchor Tours, but kept the financial takings for themselves.

In total, the accumulated sums across the alternative counts of theft and obtaining a pecuniary advantage by deception amount to US$196,736.50.

Both defendants remain on bail under stringent conditions originally fixed during their first appearance. These conditions include the surrender of their passports and a strict prohibition barring them from coming within 100 yards of any local airport or seaport, except strictly for verified employment purposes.

The case will return to court for standard pre-trial reviews ahead of the March 2027 jury selection.
