Theft Charge Withdrawn After DPP Admits It Was Filed Out Of Time

A theft charge against Warren Orlando Davis thrown out of court today, July 20, 2026, after questions arose about the timeliness of filing the charge.  Crown Counsel from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions told the Chief Magistrate that the DPP reviewed the matter and was satisfied that the charge had indeed been lodged out of time, and it was accordingly withdrawn.

Davis also faced an allegation of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol, which the court heard was barely filed on time. This matter was adjourned to July 30, 2026, for further mention.
