Zulecia Aurora Dilone Mambru, Douglas Omar Hurlston, Shammar Gordon Cummings, Jorge Alexander Escobar-Murillo and Jeffrey Ian Seymour Fernandez appeared the Grand Court today, May 29, 2026. There were various charges including misconduct in a public office, conspiracy to import firearms, ammunition and cannabis. They were bailed to their trial date of October 5, 2026.
Regarding the allegation of misconduct in a public office, it was alleged that, between February 1, 2025 and March 11, 2025, whilst acting as a Customs and Border Control Officer, Cummings wilfully misconducted himself by facilitating the importation of firearms, ammunition and a controlled drug, namely cannabis, by his co-defendants Zulecia Aurora Dilone Mambru, Jorge Alexander Escobar-Murrillo, Jeffrey Ian Seymour Fernandez and Douglas Omar Hurlston.
Concerning the conspiracy to import firearms, it was alleged that between February 1, 2025 and March 10, 2025, Hurlston, Escobar-Murrrillo, Cummings, Mambru and Fernandez, conspired together and with persons unknown to import firearms. They also faced a charge of conspiracy to import ammunition.
Lastly, it was alleged that Hurlston, Escobar-Murrillo, Cummings, Mabru and Fernandez conspired together and with persons unknown to import controlled drugs, namely Cannabis.
After the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges, the judge extended their bail to October 2026 when their trial will take place.
