Today, May 29, 2026, Joseph Anthony Thomas appeared in the Grand Court to face allegations of rape, sexual penetration of the mouth, and sexual communication with a 14-year-old. Thomas pleaded not guilty.
Regarding the rape charge, it was alleged that, on November 8, 2025, Thomas raped the 14-year-old girl.
Concerning penetration, it was alleged that penetrated the girl’s mouth with his penis for sexual gratification.
There were two charges of sexual communication with a child where it was alleged that Thomas sent sexually charged words to the minor via WhatsApp.
His trial is set for August 2026.
Justice Richards ordered that media reporting restrictions be put in place to prohibit the publication of the location of the alleged rape and the name of the minor.
