Kresnere Attberry Robert Watt appeared in the Grand Court today, May 29, 2026, to face charges of attempted murder, rape, wounding with intent and interfering with a witness. He will face sentencing in September 2026.
Regarding the attempted murder, it was alleged that, in October 2025, Watt attempted to murder a person in Red Bay. He pleaded not guilty.
For the charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, it was alleged that, in October 2026, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded a person. He pleaded guilty.
Concerning the charge of perverting the course of justice, it was alleged that Watt attempted to dissuade a witness from testifying. Prior to Watt entering a plea, his attorney noted that, given the earlier plea, Watt would not be pleading to this charge.
Regarding the rape, it was alleged that Watt raped a person in West Bay in November 2024. Watt pleaded guilty.
Crown Counsel from the Office of the Director of Prosecutions noted that the above pleas were accepted and the charge of perverting the course of justice will be disposed of at the sentencing hearing.
To prepare for Watt’s sentencing in September 2026, Justice Richards ordered that victim impact statement be prepared.
