Two men appeared in the Grand Court today, August 7, 2026, to face indecent assault allegations. Both men were released on bail.
Regarding the first man, it was previously reported that, on January 25, 2025, it was alleged that he indecently assaulted a girl by touching her breasts.
He also faces a second allegation on the same date that he indecently assaulted the same girl by holding her hand and using it to touch his penis.
Lastly, it is alleged that, on the same date, he indecently assaulted the same girl by touching her vagina.
He pled not guilty before Justice Richards.
The court went on to consider an application concerning travel. The man’s lawyer sought permission to travel abroad for about two months.
The court was told a supporting contract could be produced, and that addresses for where he would be staying would be provided once bookings were made.
Justice Richards granted bail on the following conditions:
** Provision of a cash surety of $10,000
** Residence at the address provided to the court
Regarding the second man, the details of the allegations facing him were not discussed in court. Instead, his lawyer asked for further time to go through the papers in the case. In the circumstances, the matter was adjourned to August 21. The man remains on bail on conditions that include surrendering his passport and travel documents, reporting to a police station, and having no contact with children. The court noted that media reporting restrictions apply.
