Norma Lina Scott-Padilla, appeared in the Summary Court today regarding allegations of money laundering. The Chief Magistrate committed the matter to the Grand Court to be heard at a later date.

The first charge is that, between August 1, 2023 and October 10, 2023, Scott-Padilla allegedly acquired, used and possessed criminal property, namely, the sum of KYD 33,152.76, representing the proceeds of fraud, perpetrated against Posh Nosh Ltd trading as The Lobster Pot, knowing or suspecting that the said property constituted or represented a person’s benefit from criminal conduct.

The second charge is that, between the same dates, Scott-Padilla allegedly transferred criminal property, namely, the sum of KYD 18,808.21, knowing or suspecting that the said property constituted or represented a person’s benefit from criminal conduct.
